At Better Bulldogs Co., we prioritize the health, safety, and early development of both the dam and her puppies. Here’s what you can expect when you whelp with us:
Daily Care and Comfort
Your dam and puppies will enjoy clean, fresh bedding daily, to ensure a sanitary and comfortable environment.
The dam will have 24/7 access to fresh food and water while nursing.
Puppies are fed every 2 hours during the day and every 3 hours at night for the first two weeks to support optimal growth and development.
Safe Whelping Environment
All puppies are whelped in a pig rail system designed to prevent accidental crushing and provide a safe, supportive space for both the dam and her litter.
While we are not a 24-hour monitoring facility, our setup offers a secure and closely observed environment for whelping.
Developmental Support
Once the puppies are weaned, we introduce a structured area with designated zones for sleeping, feeding, and potty training.
Puppies are exposed to a variety of sounds, surfaces, and early-life stimulation to support confident social development.
We implement early neurological stimulation and Puppy Culture-type activities to encourage well-rounded behavioral foundations.
Health & Veterinary Care
Any medications, supplements, or treatments required during the dam’s stay must be supplied by the owner or their veterinarian.
Should any complications arise requiring veterinary care, the owner is responsible for all related costs.
If the puppies require veterinary visits, we are happy to facilitate them at an additional cost.
Puppies are dewormed at weeks 2,4,6, and 8 of age — as part of our basic health care protocol.
Duration of Stay
Puppies stay with us until approximately 4 weeks of age.
During this time, we document their development weekly, noting milestones and any observations we feel are important for you to know.
We strive to give each litter the best possible start and are committed to keeping you informed throughout the process.

To ensure a smooth and comfortable stay for your dam and her puppies, please provide the following items upon drop-off:
Current Food Supply:
Please bring enough of the food your dam is currently eating to last for the duration of her stay. If she will be nursing, we recommend supplying 2–3 times her normal daily amount, as her nutritional needs will significantly increase during this period.Supplements and Medications:
Include any vitamins, supplements, or prescribed medications your dam requires, along with clear written instructions for administration. All medications must be provided by the owner or their veterinarian.Personal Belongings:
You are welcome to bring items that will provide comfort and familiarity for your dam, such as her own bedding, food/water bowls, or toys. Please label all items with your name.Puppy Birth Weights:
Please include a record of their birth weights to help us monitor their early development accurately.
